Who can witness my LPA?

When you sign your own LPA, anyone over the age of 18, who is not a named attorney or replacement attorney can witness an LPA.

Your attorney’s signature can be witnessed by anyone who is aged 18 or over, but you cannot be their witness. They can ask another named attorney or replacement attorney to be a witness.

With all signatures in your LPA, they must be witnessed in person at the time someone signs the form. You cannot sign or witness an LPA by video call or online.
